Borossia Dortmund 1 : 1 Arsenal

After 9 years out of the champions league, Borussia Dortmund are finally back and welcome Arsenal to their stadium.
You would think that they would be a bit fazed by the competition but based on their performance last night, they can take a lot of positives into it.
As much as I am a fan of Arsenal, even I have to admit that Borussia Dortmund were the better team on the night.
They played with such passion and showed no nerves against an Arsenal team, that though have a lot of newcomers, have a manager with a lot of experience in the league in Arsene Wenger.
And though he may have been banned from the sidelines, you can never take away the influence he has on Arsenal.
Arsenal scored the first goal from a nice through ball by Walcott to van Persie who finished with aplomb.
This was against the flow of play as Borussia Dortmund played very well before conceding.
It was obvious Arsenal was holding on for that one goal lead or at the very least, looking to concede only another goal to make it a draw.
Dortmund attacked the Arsenal half and finally managed to breach the Arsenal defense and scored a wonder goal through Ivan Klasnic from out of the box.

Looking back at this match, I can say that for Arsenal to bring back a draw from the current Bundesliga champions is decent for both sides, though more favorably for Arsenal.

Rugby World Cup 2011: Wales VS Republic of South Africa

Finally the rugby world cup 2011 is here.
Between this and EPL and La Liga back on, my sports craving will surely be satisfied.
Watching the match between Wales and South Africa, you can truly say the match was a game of two halves.
Wales have to be praised for being unfazed by their more illustrious opponents, who between them, only managed to muster one win and one draw.
Wales really played well and I felt they had more of a desire to win than South Africa.
At times, you can see the player go into tackles with the be
Ief that they can overpower their opponents.
They went for every ball to win and not to lose.
So unfortunate that they still could not overcome their more experienced opponents.
In the end, Wales lost by the smallest of margins, by 1 point in Wales 16 - 17 South Africa.
Even the statistics showed that the Welsh had overpowered their opponents.
Unfortunately, the experience of their opponents, the SpringBox, showed.
Playing calm and slowly, they managed to last to the final whistle holding on their slim advantage.
The man of the match went to the Welsh captain, who still very young, shows that this Welsh team has a lot of potential and will be one for the future based on tonight's performance.
They can walk with their heads held high after only just losing to the reigning world champions.
That is not to say, that Wales did not have the chance to take the match.
James Hook had two golden opportunities to win it for Wales but alas, it was not to be.
Furthermore the windy conditions during the match made it a nightmare for any kicker.
Of course, there was controversy regarding this match, specifically over James Hook who said it should have been given but the referee from New Zealand did not give it and did not choose to consult the television replay.
